Sick of living in a dystopian future? Why not distract yourself with Tough Mudder Quarantine Bingo. There might not be any real prizes but the sense of satisfaction and personal accomplishment will be more satisfying than any prize (yeah right). Okay so it might not drastically change anything but if you’re looking for a quick mood boost or a ten minute distraction, we have the game for you.
Bake Banana Bread
If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Everyone seems to be making banana bread at moment. Probably because it’s quick and simple and very hard to get wrong, although if you add the almost impossible task of finding flour into the mix, it becomes a pretty tricky challenge. Once you get your hands on all of the ingredients we have the perfect protein-packed banana bread recipe from our friends at PhD Nutrition.
Run a Virtual Tough Mudder
Keeping up with your lockdown fitness? While there’s hardly anything to do and we can only go outside once to exercise you might as well make the most of it and take on a virtual Tough Mudder. Go for a run (the distance is your choice between 5K, 10K and 8 – 10 miles) and then head home for some body weight exercises. Born Barikor’s Workout Wednesday videos are always a great place to start. Finally, celebrate your accomplishment with a cold one and throw on a headband for good measure.
Build an At Home Lidl Mudder Course
One for the parents out there. No one imagined that they’d ever have to spend this much time at home with their entire family – but here we are. If you need something to keep your littlest adventurers busy then why not attempt to build your very own Lidl Mudder course? We’ve collated some amazing examples from the community to get you started. Remember, it isn’t really about the quality of the obstacle but rather your commitment to the experience, for example add a some Eye of the Tiger for that start line vibe.
Do a Photoshoot with Your Pet
No kids at home? If you have a fur baby this is for you. It’s a proven fact that dogs look better in Tough Mudder headbands than humans. Cats look better too for that matter. Whatever pet you’ve got enjoy spending every second of the day with them with a photoshoot – you’ll look back at the treasured memories for years to come (or just leave them on your camera roll).
Take an Accidental Nap
If it’s on a list it doesn’t really seem accidental…but we’re fairly sure we’ve all been guilty of this. You take a moment away from your screen to relax on the sofa or recline on your bed and BOOM it’s 25 minutes later, you have no idea where or who you are and you have pillow print on your face. There are plenty of surprising obstacles in the home so stay alert.
Do a Tough Mudder Workout
Since lockdown began we’ve been doing our best to bring you simple at home workouts to help keep you fit and active during this bizarre time. From the classic Workout Wednesday action to brand new Stretch and Refresh yoga there’s something for everyone and we’re not stopping yet. We’ve also put together at home workouts so you can train for some of our best-loved obstacles like Mudderhorn and Block Ness Monster.
Design Your Own Obstacle
The Obstacle Design Competition is here and it’s like Christmas has come early for all budding obstacle designers. You’ve still got time to enter and we’re desperate to see your best ideas – it could even end up on course IRL. For the first time ever we’ve also introduced the Lidl Mudder Obstacle Design Competition so we can mine the brains of the future for creativity.
Build an Obstacle Course for Your Pet
We’ve seen some crackers so far. An obstacle course built for a chicken? Check. And obstacle course built for a hedgehog? Check. What’s next, who knows? But we can’t wait to see the first ever goat, dog and lizard obstacle courses in the country.
Make Tough Mudder Cocktails
We don’t suggest mixing these bad boys in the middle of Tuesday afternoon (please drink responsibly) but we certainly endorse relaxing on an extra long weekend (like the one approaching) with one of these five Tough Mudder themed cocktails. It’s time to let loose a little and embrace the party because, well why the bloody hell not?
