A Tough Mudder event isn’t only awesome because of the fun obstacles and party vibes, it’s also slap bang in the middle of some of the most incredible cities in the world.

To make sure you can pack in as much action to your day as possible we’ve asked local Influencers that specialise in knowing where the top spots to eat, drink and hang out are. Because the fun doesn’t have to stop once you’ve got your headband.

Not got your ticket to Tough Mudder North London- Finsbury Park yet? Book your spot on course now.

Your City Guide to North London

B.local London

B.Local London’s Blog and Instagram account aim to promote and support local brands that are part of the community in London. Run out of East London, so who better to tell us about the best local secrets around our event:

“There is so much unique talent and creativity in this area, so I love doing my little bit and spreading the word about hidden gems. I’ve lived in London for almost 4 years now and over those years my passion has evolved from exploring London as a new destination and all of it’s attractions to a more local approach, there’s nothing more enjoyable than uncovering the neighbourhoods that make up this incredible city – and East London is a great place to start.”

5 Places to Go Before You Run

Pavilion Cafe Victoria Park – Old Ford Rd, London E9 7DE

Travel time: 28 min walk

An amazing open-air cafe set by a lake filled with delicious brunch options, breads and sandwiches. When I go to this place, I find myself thinking I could stay all day. It’s the perfect option for breakfast or a quick coffee as you watch the world go by.

Mother Works – 1, Canalside, Here East Estate, London E20 3BS

If acai bowls and fresh juices are your thing then you’ll love this place. Positioned directly on the canal, this cozy 100% vegan juice bar and plant-based cafe is very popular amongst the locals.

The Breakfast Club – 29 E Bay Ln, London E15 2GW

Not such a hidden secret anymore, but if you haven’t been yet then you definitely need to. The All American breakfast, featuring pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, streaky bacon AND maple syrup is worth the queue.

Tina We Salute You – 2 Olympic Park Ave, London E20 1FT

Travel time: 13 min walk

This cosy cafe might be small but with quality coffee and revolving kitchen residencies, it definitely packs a punch. Not sure what to have? It’s got to be every hipster’s favourite, the flat white. You’re in Dalston, why not?

E2 Common – 53 Old Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 6QA

Travel time: 25 min bus/tube

I love E2. This is our local (so it has to make the top 5) trust me.. you won’t be disappointed, their brunch always impresses. They’re also big fans of providing local organic produce and supporting other small businesses – that’s a win for all of us.

5 Places to Go After You Run

Mason & Company and Randy’s Wing Bar – Here East, 25 East Bay Lane, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park E20 3BS

Travel time: 13 min walk

These two are my favourite picks in the Here East complex a short walk from the event. Mason & Company are a craft beer bar with 20 speciality taps showcasing beer from all over the world. While Randy’s Wing Bar will sort you out with delicious, quality wings and burgers. The perfect post-run pick me up. Here East is nice and close and has a collection of bars and restaurants to celebrate in.

Brewdog Shoreditch- 51-55 Bethnal Green Rd, London E1 6LA

Travel time: 30 min tube journey

If your idea of relaxation is kicking back with a cold pint of craft beer then a stop off at Brewdog is definitely in order. This cutting-edge brewery serves food as well, so there are plenty of excuses to stick around.

Mother Kelly’s – Paradise Row, E2 9LE

Travel time: 18 min tube journey

Housed in a converted railway arch, Mother Kelly’s is a New York inspired taproom and bottle shop in the heart of Bethnal Green. It has an amazing craft beer selection changed almost daily with a super relaxing vibe both indoors and outdoors.

Pub on the Park – 19 Martello St, London E8 3PE

Travel time: 28 min overground journey

It might be a little bit out of the way but if the decision was left up to me this is where I would be going 🙂 It’s another one of our favourite locals, the atmosphere here is unbeatable. Settle in for a Sunday Roast or swing by for a quick beer – either option possible(and great for live sports as my boyfriend would say).

Brick Lane – London, E1 6QR

Travel time: 30 min tube journey

Every time we walk down Brick Lane we discover something new. From the vast array of coffee shops, bars, retro vintage pop ups, Indian restaurants – and not to mention the famous beigel bake which I don’t know how I survive here without these delicious little parcels of goodness. I’m slightly obsessed with the street art scene also – love this chick.
